The James family isn’t done producing amazing athletes. LeBron James was a kid from Akron, Ohio, who was raised by a single mother. LeBron gained a love for basketball when he was young, he used to play on a bottomless crate nailed to a pole. He often credits his mother for introducing him to the sport as well as supporting his passion.
James attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School where his incredible athletic ability was certainly showcased. LeBron was an incredible basketball player in high school with astounding statistics like 2657 points, 867 rebounds and 523 assists. With numbers like this it’s hard for any collegiate program to pass up on him. Not only was he a great basketball player, but he was also a stand-out football player. In only 2 seasons on the football team, he recorded 103 catches for 2065 yards and 23 touchdowns. Top level college football programs were recruiting him, leaving LeBron with a choice of which sport he wanted to go forward with.

Although he was a great football player, James chose basketball because of his size and athleticism which gave him a better opportunity for success. He finished up high school and was arguably the most hyped up basketball prospect ever. He was selected with the first pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and it looked as if everyone knew they got a star from the moment they drafted him.

LeBron spent 7 years with the Cavs where he earned 5 all-star appearances and an MVP. He then went to the Miami Heat in that off-season. In the 4 years with Miami he earned 2 more MVPs and received 2 championships. He returned to Cleveland and promised to give them a title. He was true on his promise as he got them their first ever finals championship in 2016. James is now on his 6th season for the Los Angeles Lakers and his 20th NBA season. At 38 years old while still putting up 28.9 points per game, it’s clear LeBron has found the fountain of youth.

LeBron is married to Savannah James and they’ve had 3 children together. His son Bronny is 19 years old, Bryce is 16 and their daughter Zhuri is 8. It’s very difficult for the child of such a known athlete to carry on the legacy. Bronny and Bryce are clearly not letting the pressure get to them as they’ve proven to be extremely talented basketball players.
Bronny attended Sierra Canyon, a high school with a phenomenal basketball program. He went on to average 13.8 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals in his time there. He was a four star recruit and made the decision to attend University of Southern California for his collegiate basketball career.

Like Bronny, Bryce James started high school at Sierra Canyon, but after 2 years he transferred to Southern California’s Notre Dame High School. Bryce hasn’t had overwhelming success in high school but the 6’6” junior looks to have a breakout season with his new team. Bryce’s raw talent and potential have definitely caught the eye of collegiate coaches as he has recently received an offer from Ohio State University. With his junior season coming up, it’s expected to see more offers flow in.

As basketball fans I’m sure we would all like to see Bronny and maybe even Bryce play on the same court as LeBron. With the performances of LeBron in the past few seasons, it looks like he has a lot more in the tank. Its safe to say the future and legacy of the James family is in good hands and I hope to see them perform for many years to come.
